"Breeze & Midas are honored to have their photo chosen this month! Our Xanadu pack loves to howl, putting on a show of greeting for each other and for their human family whenever they are happy and excited.
Breeze, our first Shiloh, joined our home in 2004, as a spirited, independent, fiercely devoted and loyal girl. She is the reason we fell so in love with Shilohs. She is ever the princess... she hates to be dirty, takes bites of food from a fork, sleeps with her head on a pillow, but yet, I would trust her with my life. She has a strong play and prey drive, and as the alpha of our pack, keeps the boys in line. She is never far from her human family and is the first to sound an alert bark. "Princess" Breeze is a traffic stopper , literally, and to this day brings tears of joy to my eyes when I look at her. She loves to play and is the most intelligent creature I have ever known. Next to her human family, the love of her life is her partner and mate Midas. Midas joined our family in 2005 and is the perfect companion to Breeze… the Romeo to her Juliet, Anthony to her Cleopatra. He is also Kelsey's best friend. He is a large, calm, confident Shiloh, who is devoted to his family and protector of the pack. He earned his TDI certificate in August, and he will be doing volunteer work at our local hospital and hopefully working in schools as part of the Children Reading to Dogs program. These two Shilohs produced eight gorgeous puppies in 2007.
They spend their days together – playing, running, going on walks, participating in any activity we ask of them, napping by my feet, and sleeping by my bed each night. They clearly love each other and their son Ozzy; they share bowls, beds, treats, and most of all their family. I cannot imagine my life without Shilohs.
Our neighborhood hosts a Ghost Walk the week before Halloween, and Midas and Breeze will enjoy participating. On October 31, they will don their Halloween costumes – the beautiful princess and the vampire -- and greet the `ghosts and goblins' who visit us for trick-or-treat. I'm sure they will let out a howl or two in honor of the occasion. "
