Foxy and Trey's mom, Dawn writes:
Foxy came to us as a rescue, a 3 year old adult, from a large breeding kennel situation. She was being placed out because she was accused of killing her entire litter of newborn puppies, so was no longer useful to her previous owners.
Although never inside a house or on a leash, she was the easiest dog to train. She had one accident, I explained the proper procedure and she has been perfect ever since. Foxy went on into the show ring, and achieved National Select status within the next few months. With the two litters she gave us, I found a warm, loving, affectionate, over-protective mom, not one that could have ever done what she was unjustly accused of. She is the best babysitter I could ask for, is now referred to as "Grandma Foxy", and insists on taking over mom's duties with every litter once they are weaned. She is patient and kind in her teachings with the new puppies.
This photo was taken in September 2008 of Foxy with her grandson, Atreyu, from the Toran/Grace litter. She loves to lay in the shade under the trees while keeping an ever watchful eye on the pups as they romp in the grass, pull her tail, and climb all over her.
Foxy, now age 9, has continued to be exactly what the breed should be: calm, reserved yet accepting, and totally devoted to her human family. She protects our home, is my shadow and would give her life to protect me.
